Since 2021, United Autosports and Lorige have been working together on joint projects, driven by passion, high standards and a desire to go further and further. While endurance racing is poised to make a brilliant comeback in 2022, Lorige and Peugeot Sport have decided to pool their expertise to develop a range of special watches. In 2020, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest announced a new top tier Endurance racing category, the green light that many auto manufacturers, including Peugeot, were waiting for. The French triple winner of the Le Mans race in 1992, 1993 and 2009 made the headlines by unveiling its 9X8 Hypercar Hybrid prototype. With this new category clearly aiming for a wider audience and lines that recall the brand’s hallmark designs, Peugeot is back in the limelight, as it was in 1990 with its 905 model and in 2006 with the 908.

Building on the success of this partnership, it’s only natural that the link created in 2023 between CLX Motorsport (the endurance team founded by Alexandre Coigny and Nicolas Lapierre) and Lorige should continue. The proximity between Annecy, where CLX Motorsport is based, and Geneva, where the Lorige manufacture is located, facilitates the sharing of common passions. Challenges remain at the heart of this meaningful collaboration, with challenges to be met at every race. The unique carbon brake reprocessing technology developed by Lorige, combined with CLX Motorsport’s involvement in the world’s greatest endurance races, has given rise to a series of exceptional watches based on a piece of world motorsport history.

After attending the 1996 Monaco Grand Prix with his father, Clément Mateu embarked on his racing career in 2000, racing single-seaters in Formula Renault until 2004. After a short break, he raced for Hexis Racing in 2007 on an Aston Martin DBRS9 in the FIA GT3 European Championship, and is now back in the World Endurance Championship and the European Endurance Championship at the wheel of an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO.
“I’m very proud that Lorige has been by my side since 2022, the concept and watchmaking vision appealed to me straight away, and the fact that I can wear a piece of the FIA GT1 world title won by Hexis in 2011 fascinates me. A native of Rome, Francesco Castellacci is an Italian racing driver who has taken part in the world’s greatest endurance races, most often at the wheel of Italian cars that are the stuff of dreams for young and old alike. He began his career in 2005 with the Abarth promotion, and quickly moved up the ranks to take part in the World Endurance Championship at the wheel of a Ferrari 296 LM GT3. It’s only natural that these legendary cars, driven by an Italian, should make Lorige’s craftsmen dream and their hearts beat faster! From these vibrations was born an exclusive series of pieces taking up a piece of this exceptional history.
