For this model, Lorige delves into the history of
motor racing to create an unusual timepiece whose case is machined from the carbon/carbon brake pads of the McLaren MP4/8 driven by Ayrton Senna during the 1993 season. Ayrton Senna, a three-time F1 world champion, finished second in that season after an epic duel with Frenchman Alain Prost.

Based on the first relationship between Paul Di Resta and Lorige with the United Autosports parternship for the BL-Endurance « Bleu 24h » series, naturally the relation became stronger and the Lorige team wished to be on his side for his quest of ultimate performance as a new page of motorsport is being written.

Like Lorige’s first model, the BL-Endurance, that required over 2 years of development, including test phases to check the reliability of the brand’s LOR-PR01 caliber and approve the reprocessed carbon/carbon material, the Peugeot 9X8 has begun development phase trials this winter, scheduled to last a few months while it “sharpens its claws”.

Lorige and United Autosports will be working together to create a bespoke watch collection, using the brake pads from last season’s WEC race at Circuit of the Americas, Texas, where the team scored their second world championship race win in as many races. Lorige will also be creating a watch from the brake pads that were on the #22 Le Mans 24 Hours race winning car.
