Every Lorige case is, by its essence, truly one-of-a-kind. Machined from authentic endurance racing brake pads that have competed in the world’s most prestigious motorsports events, each of our cases carries the legacy of a unique track history in its curves. Every Lorige case is authenticated and comes with a certificate of origin retracing the pad history, from its racing roots to Lorige manufacture in Switzerland.

After 3 years of research & development, Lorige achieved a patented process of more than 30 hours to craft 2 cases from one brake pad. This patented expertise makes every Lorige case unparalleled and breaks with the conventions of traditional watchmaking by introducing an innovative material that was not originally intended for high-end watchmaking.

Top-level motorsports require precision, concentration, and experience. Coming from the world of competitive motor racing, the founders of Lorige wanted to infuse this energy into each of their watches—and what better place for watchmaking excellence than Switzerland. All the Lorige timepieces are Swiss Made, from Geneva to La-Chaux-de-Fonds.

All the AS-01 external parts are sublimated by hand in Geneva by a selected group of Lorige artisans. Very carefully, they satin-finished and polished the 18K white gold bezel that frames the impressive tourbillon’s cage. This precious yet refined material has been selected as a recall to the curves of the 90’s F1 cars. Reflecting an exceptional attention to detail, the very design of the LOR-TC01 was conceived to ensure that each selected component could be finished according to its specifications. For example, the central bezel inserts were designed to be removable, allowing artisans to achieve exceptional precision by hand-polishing the piece before reinserting it into the bezel.

The LOR-TC01 is a complex caliber whose development represented a technical challenge, both in its architecture and in the uncompromising standards required to honor such an iconic motorsport heritage. Every detail has received the team’s utmost attention, from the movement’s refined finishes to the meticulous chamfering of the lower bridge wheels, designed to prevent interference with the surrounding gears. Each movement’s component is individually hand-finished, reflecting the pursuit of absolute precision and craftsmanship that defines Lorige.

Lorige wanted to imbue this one-of-a-kind piece with details of the world to which it refers. Designed to resonate with enthusiasts, the AS-01 reveals a wealth of details and decorations, intended to be discovered by the most discerning connoisseurs. Beyond the decoration of the tourbillon’s cage, the two barrels have been designed to evoke the Speedline rims, while the movement is secured at 5 and 8 o’clock by “tie rods”, echoing those found on the chassis of single-seater race cars. The “9” and “3” numerals have been highlighted as a tribute to the years of origin of the brake pads. The dial, crafted from the same Carbon/Carbon pads as the case, has been recessed into the back of the timepiece creating additional depth and contrast within this highly complex movement.
