The AS-01 Flying Central Tourbillon exclusive edition is Lorige's most ambitious project to date. It’s case and dial are crafted from Carbon/Carbon brake pad from the McLaren MP4/8 Formula 1 driven and signed by Ayrton Senna in 1993. Lorige’s mission was to create a caliber worthy of such automotive heritage. Developed in collaboration with Dominique Renaud and the late Pierre Favre, the LOR-TC01 Flying Central Tourbillon represents a true technical challenge, enriched with refined details that reveal themselves only to the most discerning eyes.
The LOR-TC01 Flying Central Tourbillon has been created with a relentless drive to push the limits. This exclusive caliber features a high complication designed from the ground up with Timeless Renaud Favre Unit. After a year of dedicated research and development, this unique caliber comes to life, featuring 323 components and a hand-wound flying tourbillon that sits at the center of the watch, like a driver at the heart of a Formula 1. The double barrel power reserve runs for up to 93 hours, a reference to 1993, the year from which the brake pads were sourced. Finally, the three Formula 1 world championship’s titles won by the Brazilian driver are engraved in the upper titanium cage of the tourbillon, as if to mark in time the belonging of this timepiece to History.
